Kyocera “Navigates for Success” in a Changing Industry

Las Vegas, NV – April 19, 2017 – KYOCERA Document Solutions America, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, kicked off Fiscal Year ‘18 with its Business & Technology Conference, held this year at the spectacular Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. The annual event gathered more than 1,000 dealer participants from across the Americas, global leadership from the parent company in Japan, a panel of industry experts, and many of Kyocera’s most important vendor partners. 

The conference’s theme of “Navigate Your Success” was Kyocera’s response to an industry in transition – as customers increasingly look for help managing not only their documents, but all forms of information needed to run their businesses. 

Kyocera leadership renewed their promise to be dealers’ “best partner for growth,” supporting them in more ways than ever before: enhanced service offerings, new technology, improved infrastructure and online tools, educational seminars, industry insights, and continued strong channel support. The three-day event coincided with the beginning of the KYOCERA Document Solutions’ new fiscal year, and began with President & CEO Mr. Yukio Ikeda reporting a sixth consecutive record-breaking year of sales for the Americas. “It is always an honor and a pleasure to celebrate great results,” Ikeda stated, before quickly turning to the company’s plans for the future: Total Document Solutions 2.0. 

Documents and Data 

“Documents will always be crucial to customers’ businesses, and therefore our business,” said Danielle Wolowitz, VP of Corporate Marketing. “But customers are thinking about more than just documents.” 

Through Total Document Solutions 2.0, KYOCERA Document Solutions America is increasingly supporting its dealers’ ability to service the evolving needs of their customers. The starting point is an expanded relationship for dealers with business process solutions provider, DataBank. The company’s alliance with DataBank was created to offer customers a new level of consultative expertise in simplifying complex workflows, and optimizing business performance. The company’s BPI capabilities and the soon-to-come IT Services offerings, specifically Workspace as a Service, are at the heart of the Total Document Solutions 2.0 (TDS 2.0) approach. 

Mr. Ikeda explained, “We provide the services our customers need. Documents are only part of their overall data needs.” 

Kyocera Fleet Services: Broadening the Scope 

Introduced last year, Kyocera Fleet Services is a real-time remote monitoring service that has been rolled out throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and South America. Kyocera announced integration with ECI’s e-Automate platform, enabling meter-reading capability of both Kyocera and other manufacturers’ devices, as well as an open API interface and remote address book editing. “It’s a win-win for dealers and customers alike,” said Terry Knopsnyder, Vice President Engineering at KYOCERA Document Solutions America. 

Online Access Easier than Ever 

A major overhaul to Kyocera’s online presence promises to make navigating the public website and channel-partner portals easier than ever. For dealers, the new KDACentral brings virtually all interaction to a single-log-in, easy-to-navigate portal. Dealers can access all marketing collateral and software downloads, or visit the Partner Commerce System with improved order entry and tracking. For customers, the public website has been redesigned as well, with new pages, new resources, and a whole new look. All new websites will go live in early May. 

Stronger Product Line, More Business Applications 

FY ‘17 saw Kyocera roll out a major upgrade to its product line, resulting in numerous awards and certifications from Buyers Lab, Better Buys, IDC, BTA, Cerner®, and Japan’s Good Design Award. The company continues to grow its industry-leading application library. KYOCERA Net Manager is a business application that integrates key management functions into a single, secure, server-based web app. Connector apps for Hyland AirBase and Hyland ShareBase add to Kyocera’s ability to integrate its devices seamlessly with leading document management software. The company announced further enhancements to some of its most popular applications, including PinPoint Scan™, AccuSender®, and the DMConnect family.
